Polish General Assumes Key NATO and EU Military Representative Role

General Jarosław Błazeusz has taken up a crucial position as Poland's military representative to the Military Committees of both NATO and the European Union. The Polish General Staff announced his new role, emphasizing its importance and the extensive experience required.

General Błazeusz, considered one of the Polish Army's most experienced officers, was appointed to this role in April by the Minister of National Defence. He officially began his duties at the beginning of August. The Military Committees of NATO and the EU are the primary military bodies within these organizations, composed of high-ranking officers from member states.

General Jarosław Błazeusz has commenced his duties as the Polish Military Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Military Committees of NATO and the European Union, beginning a new phase of service for the security of the Republic of Poland and representing the interests of the Polish Armed Forces on the international forum.

These committees act as a vital link between the highest political authorities of NATO and the EU and their respective military commands and armed forces. The Polish General Staff highlighted that Błazeusz's appointment underscores his professionalism, competence, and long-standing commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces and strengthening allied cooperation.

General Błazeusz's career spans over three decades. He previously served as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army and commanded the Eurocorps. His international experience includes roles such as a NATO affairs specialist and deputy defense attaché in Washington D.C. He also commanded Polish Task Force troops during a rotation in Afghanistan.
