Polish PM Morawiecki may lack conviction in his own development plan, says PiS official

Professor Karol Karski, a discipline spokesperson for Poland's ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, has expressed skepticism regarding Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's "Rozwój Plus" (Development Plus) initiative. Karski suggested that Morawiecki himself may lack the conviction needed for the program's success, hinting at potential internal divisions or doubts within the government.

"I have the impression that on Mateusz Morawiecki's side, there is no conviction about the success of the Rozwój Plus initiative," Karski stated in an interview with Rzeczpospolita. This sentiment implies that the Prime Minister might not fully believe in the efficacy or potential outcomes of his own economic development plan, potentially undermining its implementation and public perception.

Despite these reservations about the "Rozwój Plus" program, Karski conveyed a strong sense of confidence in the PiS party's overall electoral prospects. He asserted that "on our side, there is a conviction about the success of PiS, even after the changes." This suggests that while specific government initiatives might face internal questioning, the party leadership remains assured of its continued political strength and ability to win future elections.
