Polish Polls: Bad News for KO and PiS, Razem Party Sees Growth

Recent polling data indicates a challenging landscape for Poland's major political forces, with both the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party and the main opposition Civic Coalition (KO) facing declining support.

The latest survey by IBRiS for Rzeczpospolita, conducted between August 21-22, suggests that forming a stable governing coalition after the elections will be difficult. However, the Razem party, a component of the broader Left coalition, has emerged as a notable exception, registering the most significant increase in voter support since July.

This party is actively working in large cities – you can see it in Poznan, where Razem is very critical of the city authorities, you can also see it in Krakow, where it has a visible candidate in the presidential elections. Razem attracts young people, just like the Confederation on the right.

This upward trend for Razem, also reflected in a recent CBOS poll, suggests a successful summer for the party led by Adrian Zandberg and Aleksandra Owca. Analysts attribute this growth to Razem's active presence and critical stance in major urban centers, such as Poznan and Krakow, where they have fielded candidates for upcoming mayoral elections.

Professor Szymon Ossowski notes that Razem, similar to the Confederation party on the right, appears to be attracting younger voters. While the percentage growth is substantial, he cautions that it remains close to the statistical error margin, emphasizing that the actual gains in percentage points are modest.
