Political rivals should not let differences turn into animosity, says Nawaz

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has called for political opponents to manage their differences without descending into animosity, a sentiment seemingly directed at the ruling coalition's internal friction. Sharif made these remarks during a party convention in Murree, following elections held across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

We have always maintained good relations with our opponents. There is always disagreement in politics, but it should not reach the point where it creates animosity. This is unacceptable.

While congratulating the winners of the AJK elections, Sharif also extended his sympathies to the losing candidates. He acknowledged that complaints from the PPP, a coalition partner, had been "upsetting." "We have always maintained good relations with our opponents," Sharif stated. "There is always disagreement in politics, but it should not reach the point where it creates animosity. This is unacceptable."

Sharif lamented the growing enmity in AJK's political atmosphere, which he described as historically positive. "I was upset over their losses, and I have good relations with them personally," he said. "We need to look at those factors which contributed to their defeat. We had very good candidates who bravely contested these elections. If they were defeated, we must look at the reasons why."

The PML-N leader concluded by stressing the importance of resilience, noting, "We can lose seats, but we cannot lose our spirit."
