Possible violation of Polish airspace under investigation

Poland's military is investigating whether an unidentified object approaching from Belarus entered the country's airspace.

The Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced the inquiry on social media. It said the Air Operations Centre was checking the incident and had sent a military helicopter to the area to examine radar-system records.

In connection with the suspected violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland by an unidentified object approaching from the direction of Belarus, the Operational Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces, through the Air Operations Centre, is conducting verification activities.

The military said the checks aim to confirm the nature of the recorded object and rule out the possibility that the signal resulted from weather phenomena or other meteorological anomalies. It also said no long-range Russian aviation activity linked to strikes on targets in Ukraine had been observed in recent hours.

The Operational Command said it was monitoring the situation continuously. It plans to release more information after completing the checks and confirming all details.
