Post-election Reconciliation Deepens in Osun as Adeleke Welcomes Oyebamiji’s Call for Peace

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has praised the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, for his call for peace in the state following the recent election. Oyebamiji had urged his supporters to maintain order and expressed respect for the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) decision, while noting his party's intent to review the outcome.

I am forever a man of peace. It is heartwarming that my brother, Oyebamiji, is also preaching peace. I assure him that my supporters have not and will not attack APC members.

Governor Adeleke welcomed Oyebamiji's peace advocacy, characterizing it as a "positive tone" after weeks of heated campaigning and an intense election season. He noted that this call for peace was a welcome development for the people of Osun, who had experienced significant trauma and violence in the months leading up to the election. Adeleke recalled the pre-election climate of fear and conflict, stating that his team consistently rejected violence as a campaign tactic, even under pressure.

Adeleke extended an invitation to Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, Bola Oyebamiji, and other opposition leaders to join forces with him. He stressed that collaboration is essential to elevate Osun to greater heights, recognizing all stakeholders as vital to the state's progress. The governor's remarks signal a move towards reconciliation and unified governance in Osun State.
