Tinubu Asks APC Campaign Council to Defeat Forces Seeking to Take Nigeria Backwards

President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming January 2027 elections, appointing Senator Abdulaziz Yari as its Director-General. Tinubu, who chairs the council, urged its members to actively work towards defeating any forces seeking to impede Nigeria's progress and to highlight the administration's successes in driving economic advancement.

Vice President Kashim Shettima and Professor Nentawe Yilwatda will serve as vice chairmen, with Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as secretary. The council's composition includes prominent figures such as former APC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Chief Segun Osoba, and former Imo State Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha as advisors. Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Tajudeen Abass are appointed as deputy directors-general for the southern and northern regions, respectively.
