Power outage affects over 2,000 in Helsinki's Töölö and Kamppi areas

More than 2,000 residents in Helsinki's Etelä-Töölö and Kamppi districts experienced a power outage, according to the electricity company Helen. The company has launched an investigation into the cause and is working to restore electricity service promptly.

One resident, Sirpa Kallio, reported that her power cut off, briefly returned, and then cut off again, leaving her without electricity for about 10 to 15 minutes. She expressed surprise at the outage, noting the absence of thunderstorms, which are a common cause of such disruptions.

Telecommunications operator Elisa also reported disruptions to its fixed broadband services in the Etelä-Töölö, Kamppi, and Hietaniemi areas. While fixed internet services were impacted, mobile network connections in the region continued to function normally. Technicians are currently working to resolve the issue.
