Prabowo expresses sadness over corruption charges against former nutrition agency officials

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has voiced his sadness following the naming of corruption suspects in the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The former head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, along with two former deputy heads, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, are implicated in alleged corruption linked to the government's Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

The Kejaksaan Agung, or Attorney General's Office, has designated the former officials as suspects in the case. President Prabowo shared his sentiments during an event focused on 'Building Indonesia's Future Generations Through Nutrition' held at the Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday.

Prabowo expressed his disappointment, stating his sorrow over the charges against individuals he had previously trusted to execute a key government initiative. The MBG program is considered a priority for the current administration, and the alleged corruption involves those entrusted with its implementation.
