Prabowo jokes his ministers are going bald after 18 months in office

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto lightheartedly remarked that his cabinet ministers appear to be losing their hair after approximately 18 months in office. He shared this observation during the closing of the National Congress on Science, Technology, and Industry in Jakarta on Sunday.

During his address, Prabowo pointed out Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, noting that his hair seemed to have receded. The president made a similar jest when addressing the Chief Operating Officer of BPI Danantara, Dony Oskaria, commenting on his thinning hair as well.

In a more serious tone, Prabowo expressed his enthusiasm for more frequent interactions with academics, including university rectors. He indicated a desire to meet with rectors on a monthly basis if possible and pledged to follow up on the suggestions and input provided by the academic community.

"I need to meet with smart people," Prabowo stated, acknowledging the need for intellectual engagement. He also mentioned his concern for professors who frequently travel to Jakarta for meetings, suggesting that improved transportation like the 'Whoosh' high-speed train could make such journeys more feasible.
