President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia revealed his administration's strategy of placing numerous professors in key government roles, emphasizing their vital contribution to solving national challenges. He believes these scientists are essential for guiding the nation toward a prosperous life for its citizens.

"I have been very aware from the beginning of the role and importance of scientists, of professors. And because of that, if you observe, I have included professors in almost every crucial area of government, in very decisive positions," Prabowo stated at the Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) 2026 in Jakarta.

Prabowo articulated that an organization's success hinges on the competence of its personnel, drawing parallels to leadership and sports. He likened a leader to a ship's captain who needs a reliable crew to reach their destination safely. Similarly, he noted, a winning football team requires not only skilled players but also competent managers, coaches, and support staff.

"It is not the technology, it is not the equipment, it is the man and the women behind the equipment. This is what we realize. It's useless to have the most sophisticated aircraft if the pilot is not reliable," he added, underscoring his belief that human capability is paramount.
