Pramono Prepares Transjakarta for Transportation Services in the Thousand Islands, Here's the Explanation

The provincial government of DKI Jakarta is preparing to deploy PT Transportasi Jakarta, commonly known as Transjakarta, to manage transportation services in the Thousand Islands archipelago. This move comes as the current transportation system serving the islands is considered ineffective.

Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, stated that the majority of transportation services to the Thousand Islands are currently handled by the Transportation Agency, with additional support from local business operators. "We see this as very inefficient," he remarked during a visit to Rorotan, North Jakarta. Consequently, the decision was made to have Transjakarta oversee these services.

Pramono expressed confidence in Transjakarta's capabilities, citing its strong performance in managing public transportation within Jakarta. The provincial-owned enterprise operates over 10,000 buses with a commendable record of punctuality. The governor believes this established efficiency makes Transjakarta well-suited to manage the logistics of transport connecting mainland Jakarta to the islands.

Under the new plan, Transjakarta will be responsible for providing transport services between the mainland and the islands within the DKI Jakarta province. This integration aims to streamline operations and improve the overall effectiveness of travel for residents and visitors to the Thousand Islands.
