Recent viral incidents, particularly in Tanah Abang, where 'street thugs' were seen extorting money from food vendors and even bajaj drivers, have brought this problem to the forefront. The governor assured the public that the perpetrators of these acts have been apprehended.

Anung emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government will not stand idly by and is prepared to collaborate with security forces to maintain the capital's stability and safety. He explicitly stated that the local government fully supports efforts to ensure that such extortionate acts do not happen again.
