Presidency mourns as Tinubu’s aide loses father

The Nigerian Presidency has extended its condolences to Olusegun Dada, Special Assistant on Social Media to President Bola Tinubu, following the death of his father, Chief Idowu Folorunsho Dada, at the age of 91. The message of sympathy was conveyed in a statement issued by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu described the late Chief Dada as an individual whose life was characterized by integrity, discipline, and compassion. He noted Chief Dada's distinguished career as a former Sales Manager at NEXAN Kablemetal Nigeria Plc, where he earned the respect of his colleagues. The President also acknowledged Chief Dada's role as a devoted father and mentor who instilled sound moral values in his children, including Segun Dada.

"President Tinubu acknowledges Chief Dada’s invaluable contributions as a loving father and mentor who nurtured his children, including his son, Segun Dada, with sound moral values," the statement read. "The President also notes Chief Dada’s commitment to the Church and his exemplary family values."

Tinubu offered prayers for the repose of the deceased's soul and for comfort for the bereaved family. "I extend my heartfelt condolences to the children of Pa Dada and the extended family members over the transition of their patriarch," the President stated. "I especially console Segun at this difficult time for the family. The family should find comfort in the legacy of service and good name left behind by Chief Dada."
