President Erdoğan: Imam Hatip schools are raising their standards of achievement

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan used a video message to tell Turkey’s Imam Hatip community that its schools are continuing to raise their achievement standards. He addressed the 23rd Imam Hatip Congress, organized by the ÖNDER Imam Hatip Graduates Association in Trabzon.

Erdoğan greeted the association’s organizers, teachers, academics and young participants, as well as Imam Hatip graduates in Turkey’s 81 provinces and in other countries. He thanked the organizers for inviting him and wished the congress success for the schools, the country and the nation.

He said the panels and sessions should produce ideas that address the past, present and future and contribute to a common vision. Erdoğan also commemorated those who had worked over 75 years to establish, preserve and strengthen Imam Hatip schools, and praised current supporters as the movement’s “soldiers, carriers and standard-bearers.”

The Imam Hatip schools founded, sustained and brought to this day by our nation are continuing on their path by constantly raising the bar for achievement.

Erdoğan said graduates now serve Turkey across defense industries, bureaucracy, academia, politics, the private sector and civil society. He argued that their achievements became clear again at the latest military academy graduation ceremonies after what he called artificial barriers had been removed.

He also pointed to results in the transition-to-high-school and higher-education entrance examinations. Erdoğan said he firmly believes this generation will become a guarantee for Turkey and the Muslim community.
