President Lee Proposes Golf Meeting With Opposition Lawmakers to Hear Criticism

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has reportedly extended an invitation to lawmakers from the opposition People Power Party for a golf meeting, signaling a desire to engage directly with critical voices. The proposal was conveyed through a senior presidential aide to Shin Sang-beom, a three-term lawmaker from the party.

According to Shin, the presidential official explained that the meeting's purpose was to "hear critical opinions" from opposition politicians. Shin, who declined the invitation citing his inability to play golf, reportedly told the aide that it was a "good idea" and suggested discussing issues such as opposition to the cancellation of public charges.
