President Milanović Attends Casual Opening of Vrboska Film Festival on Hvar

Croatian President Zoran Milanović, accompanied by his wife Sanja Musić Milanović, attended the opening of the third Vrboska Film Festival on the island of Hvar. The event, which runs from August 1 to 4, celebrates short films and emerging filmmakers.

President Milanović opted for a relaxed attire, wearing brown shorts, a black t-shirt, and sandals, likely influenced by the prevailing heatwave. His wife, Sanja Musić Milanović, chose an elegant pink outfit for the occasion.

The festival features a competitive program of recent Croatian and international short fiction and animated films, with the top prize being the Blue Palm award. Beyond film screenings, the festival includes workshops, youth activities, and a special children's program, aiming to promote short films and cultivate audiences outside major urban centers.

Following the opening remarks by festival director Darija Stilin, five short films were screened at the open-air cinema Tvrđava. The program included "President Nixon's Gift" by Igor Šeregi, "Hermit Crab" by Beaux Salix, "Death-Introduction" by Martin Horvat, "My Parachuting Grandma" by Polina Piddubna, and "SOS" by Anita Morina. The evening concluded with "Ples jedara" (Dance of the Sails), an artistic performance featuring traditional wooden sailboats.
