President Murmu accepts Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as education minister

President Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from his position as the Union Minister for Education. Following this development, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been assigned the additional charge of the education ministry. The announcement came just hours after Pradhan officially tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pradhan's departure from the education portfolio marks a shift in the government's ministerial lineup. Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, who is set to take on the new responsibilities, is currently serving as the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy. This marks his return to Prime Minister Modi's cabinet in 2024. Joshi, a five-time Member of Parliament, is recognized as a key figure within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command. Joshi, born in November 1962 into a traditional North Karnataka Brahmin family, has a long political career. His expanded role will see him managing multiple significant ministries, reflecting the government's ongoing adjustments and priorities.
