President Noboa inaugurates comprehensive care center for people with disabilities in Machala

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa inaugurated a new Comprehensive Care Center for People with Disabilities in Machala, located in the El Oro province. The facility aims to significantly enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families.

During the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, President Noboa emphasized the importance of joint efforts between the national government and regional authorities. "This cooperation allows us to complete projects that benefit citizens. That is what we see today in El Oro. We are here with the Prefecture in the delivery of this center. That will always be the cause that will find us on the same side, improving the lives of Ecuadorians," he stated.

The new center provides a range of specialized services, including tomography, physical rehabilitation, psychological therapy, and speech therapy. President Noboa toured the facilities, reiterating his administration's dedication to supporting local governments in their initiatives to improve residents' well-being. He stressed that such projects contribute to dignifying healthcare for people with disabilities.

Beyond healthcare, President Noboa also highlighted other government initiatives in El Oro province. These include support for the agricultural sector through technical assistance, irrigation systems, and land regularization, benefiting approximately 1,100 families with property titles. In education, nearly 90 institutions have been upgraded, impacting over 38,000 students, and around 10,000 scholarships have been awarded. The government is also backing local entrepreneurs with credits for nearly 3,300 individuals, fostering job creation and economic stability.
