President of Uzbekistan to pay state visit to Kyrgyzstan

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to make a state visit to Kyrgyzstan from July 30 to August 1. The trip, at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, aims to deepen bilateral relations between the two Central Asian nations.

During the visit, Mirziyoyev and Japarov will engage in talks focused on enhancing bilateral trade, fostering industrial cooperation, improving transport connectivity, and strengthening cultural exchanges. The leaders are also expected to discuss pressing regional and international issues. Several bilateral agreements are anticipated to be signed following their discussions.

Beyond the bilateral agenda, President Mirziyoyev will participate in an informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. This regional gathering will take place on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake. Azerbaijan became a full participant in these consultative meetings in November 2025.

This visit follows a period of active engagement between the two countries. Mirziyoyev last visited Kyrgyzstan in January 2023, when they established a comprehensive strategic partnership. President Japarov has also visited Uzbekistan multiple times, most recently in July 2024.
