President Prabowo inaugurates new regional hospital in Lampung

President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia has traveled to Lampung province to officially inaugurate the KH Muhammad Thohir Regional General Hospital (RSUD). The President departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Wednesday morning, accompanied by a select group of officials.

Among those joining President Prabowo on this working visit were Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Public Works and Housing Maruarar Sirait, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The visit to Lampung was previously discussed by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin during a meeting with the President in Jakarta on Tuesday.

During their meeting, the development of 66 regional general hospitals (RSUD) throughout Indonesia was a key topic. The Minister of Health reported that as of 2025, 20 out of 22 planned RSUDs have been completed, with 10 already operational. Discussions also covered "quick wins" programs, such as free health check-ups and tuberculosis case management.

The inauguration of the hospital in Krui, Pesisir Barat Regency, signifies an expansion of healthcare infrastructure in the region. The presence of multiple ministers underscores the national importance placed on healthcare development and the specific project.
