President Prabowo Inspects Forest Fire Handling in West Kalimantan

President Prabowo Subianto traveled to West Kalimantan on Saturday, August 22, to personally inspect the handling of forest and land fires (karhutla). Accompanied by the Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, the President visited Desa Limbung in Kubu Raya Regency.

The visit followed a limited meeting where President Prabowo emphasized his intention to see the real conditions on the ground and receive current situation reports. "I came to see the real local conditions. Now I ask who can give me a presentation about the situation," the President stated.

Upon arrival, President Prabowo surveyed the fire-affected areas and observed the firefighting efforts by joint personnel. He also interacted with local residents to understand the community's situation. The President directed ministers and relevant officials on the importance of swift and coordinated responses.

The government is intensifying efforts to expedite fire suppression and prevent the further spread of fires in West Kalimantan. The President's direct involvement aims to ensure that directives and strategies are effectively implemented in the field. He was joined by other high-ranking officials, including the Minister of State Secretary, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police.
