President Prabowo visits East Java to inaugurate roads and attend NU conference

President Prabowo Subianto embarked on a working visit to East Java on Tuesday morning, departing from Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base. The President, accompanied by several ministers including Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, is set to inaugurate significant infrastructure projects and attend a key religious gathering.

The itinerary highlights the inauguration of 1,151 kilometers of regional roads across Indonesia, a project implemented under the Presidential Instruction for Regional Roads (IJD). This initiative aims to enhance inter-regional connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and improve the distribution of goods and services, reflecting the government's commitment to infrastructure development.

Following his engagements in Sampang Regency, where the road inaugurations will take place, President Prabowo will proceed to Bangkalan Regency. There, he is scheduled to participate in the closing ceremony of the 2026 National Conference of Islamic Scholars and the Great Conference of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). This event is considered a vital platform for reinforcing the role of Islamic scholars in national unity and development.

The President's attendance at the NU conference closing ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, was confirmed by Muhammad Nuh, Secretary of the Steering Committee. The confirmation followed the President's schedule being finalized on Monday, June 22, 2026. The conference is hosted at the Syaichona Mohammad Cholil Institute of Islamic Religion.
