Presidents Mirziyoyev, Japarov and Rahmon fly to Astana

Astana is set to host the opening ceremony of the international multisport tournament, Games of the Future 2026, with leaders from Central Asia in attendance. Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, and Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan are expected to participate in the event.

The tournament will bring together more than 800 athletes representing 34 countries. Competitions are scheduled to take place in Astana from July 29 to August 9. The unique format of the Games of the Future merges digital and physical activities. Athletes first engage in digital challenges on consoles, computers, or mobile devices before transitioning to physical competitions, which can include formats like "phygital" football or basketball.

This initiative, launched with a countdown by Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev earlier this year, showcases key disciplines such as phygital basketball, phygital football, MOBA Mobile, MOBA PC, and phygital martial arts. The tournament aims to blend the worlds of esports and traditional sports, offering a novel competitive experience.
