Prime Minister sees no reason to change head of Foreign Affairs Committee

Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius has stated that there is currently no basis to change Remigijus Motuzas's leadership of the Seimas Foreign Affairs Committee. The committee plays a crucial role in shaping Lithuania's foreign policy.

Sinkevičius affirmed that Motuzas is fulfilling his responsibilities adequately and is effectively managing the coordination of the country's foreign policy. This statement suggests confidence in Motuzas's current performance in a key parliamentary role.

Orinta Leiputė, the head of the Social Democrats' faction in the Seimas, echoed the prime minister's sentiment, indicating that there are no plans for a leadership change. While discussions about replacing Motuzas have been more public, internal party conversations on the matter are reportedly less frequent.

Looking ahead, the Social Democrats intend to propose a candidate in the autumn to lead the Seimas and World Lithuanian Community Commission. This commission serves to connect members of the Lithuanian parliament with representatives of the global Lithuanian diaspora.
