Prime Ministers of Laos, Cambodia, Timor-Leste to Visit Vietnam for Talks, ASEAN Forum

Vietnam is set to host a series of high-level diplomatic engagements as the Prime Ministers of Laos, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste make official visits to the country between June 7 and June 10. The visits, at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, will overlap with the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) scheduled to take place in Hanoi.

Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone is expected from June 7-9, followed by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet from June 8-9, and Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão from June 7-10. The concurrent hosting of these leaders underscores Vietnam's active role in regional diplomacy and its commitment to strengthening ties within ASEAN and with its neighboring nations.

The 3rd ASEAN Future Forum, running from June 9-10 in Hanoi, will serve as a key platform for discussions on critical regional issues. The forum's agenda includes plenary sessions addressing self-reliance, conflict prevention, artificial intelligence, energy security, and development models. Additionally, various side events are planned, such as dialogues among Southeast Asian political parties, a conference for ASEAN city leaders, a roundtable on the Mekong sub-region, a youth forum, and discussions on AI governance.

During their respective visits, the visiting prime ministers will engage in bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. They are also scheduled to hold courtesy calls with other key Vietnamese leaders and participate in other significant diplomatic activities. These interactions are expected to foster deeper cooperation and understanding on shared challenges and opportunities within the region.
