Prince Emmanuel of Belgium Debuts as DJ with First Solo Song 'Wonder'

Prince Emmanuel of Belgium, the third child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, has ventured into the electronic music scene with the official release of his first solo song, titled "Wonder." This debut signifies a new artistic chapter for the prince, who has maintained a relatively low profile regarding his musical pursuits in recent months. The release is complemented by a music video shot in iconic Brussels locations, including the King's Gallery, blending urban aesthetics with contemporary electronic music.

While the launch may surprise many, Emmanuel's musical journey began long before his DJ alias. He received saxophone training from a young age and grew up in a musically inclined household. His siblings also pursued musical instruments, with his older siblings learning piano and his younger sister, Eleonore, playing the violin, making music a regular family activity.

Emmanuel's interest later shifted towards electronic sounds, leading him to develop his own project. By mid-2025, he began releasing compositions under the moniker DJ Vyntrix, collaborating with French musician Louis-Elzéar de Monspey on tracks like "Rio," "Palace," and "Free." The song "Palace" drew attention, with many linking it to his royal status.

However, "Wonder" represents his first fully individual production, establishing an artistic identity separate from the usual spotlight of royalty. Early in the project, the prince maintained a degree of anonymity to allow his music to be judged on its own merit, a strategy that helped DJ Vyntrix gain recognition within the electronic music community before his royal identity became widely known. This artistic development coincided with significant academic shifts. After starting International Business Administration and Marketing at the University of Applied Sciences of Louvain in September 2025, he later switched to a business development course in French, seeking more flexibility to balance his studies with his music projects.
