Prince Gabriel to Continue Military Career as Paracommando Trainee

Prince Gabriel is set to advance his military career by pursuing specialized training as a paracommando. This follows his completion of a four-year program at the Royal Military School, where he will earn a master's degree in Social and Military Sciences. This academic achievement marks a historic milestone for the Belgian royal family, as he is the first prince to complete this specific course of study.

His military journey will continue at the Infantry School in Arlon, focusing on becoming a platoon commander. The Royal Palace confirmed that after this phase, Prince Gabriel will undertake the rigorous paracommando training at Marche-les-Dames. Successfully completing this demanding course will earn him the coveted paracommando brevet.

Prince Gabriel began his officer training in August 2022, immersing himself in campus life, academic studies, and leadership development. His international experience includes a six-month stint at the prestigious French military academy, Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan, where he also obtained his paratrooper wings. Additionally, he participated in military exercises in Morocco and completed an internship in French Guiana.

His elder sister, Princess Elisabeth, also attended the Royal Military School, completing her first year in 2020 before continuing her studies at the University of Oxford. Prince Gabriel's commitment to a full military education underscores a growing tradition of royal service within the Belgian monarchy.
