Private enterprises value in Oman tops OMR8.67BN

Oman's private sector continues its trajectory of robust growth, with the latest data from the National Center for Statistics and Information revealing a dynamic landscape in the fourth quarter of 2025. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are at the forefront of this expansion, spearheading increases in both business activity and job creation, underscoring their vital role in the Sultanate's economic diversification efforts.

While the overall increase in active private establishments was modest, the performance across different business segments tells a compelling story. Medium-sized enterprises, in particular, have recorded impressive expansion, growing by 5.6 percent. Small businesses also showed significant gains, while large institutions maintained a steady rise. This segmented growth highlights a healthy and evolving business environment, even as micro-enterprises experienced a slight contraction, signaling potential consolidation or restructuring within that segment.

Beyond the numbers of establishments, the economic contribution of the private sector has demonstrably strengthened. The total added value surged by 4.7 percent, reaching an impressive OMR8.677 billion. This growth not only bolsters the sector's overall economic impact but also reinforces its substantial contribution to Oman's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which rose by 4.6 percent.
