The Nigerian presidency has welcomed a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump, viewing it as further validation of the progress achieved by the current administration. Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communications, shared this perspective during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today.

Trump's letter, dated July 6, 2026, was made public recently after the presidency released its details. In it, the U.S. President specifically commended President Bola Tinubu for his "decisive leadership" in addressing terrorism and insecurity within Nigeria. The commendation particularly highlighted efforts related to attacks on Christian communities, while reaffirming America's commitment to supporting Nigeria's counter-terrorism initiatives.

Reacting to the letter, Bwala stated that the recognition from the U.S. President provides additional evidence of the administration's forward momentum. "Fact speaks for itself. That’s what it is. The letter is further proof of the progress we are making," he asserted.
