Prosecutor Opposes Cirio's Bid to Exclude Dollar Videos as Evidence in Insaurralde Case

Prosecutor Sergio Mola has opposed Jesica Cirio's attempt to have videos showing her with bags of dollars excluded as evidence in the ongoing illicit enrichment and money laundering case against former Lomas de Zamora mayor Martín Insaurralde, Cirio's ex-partner.

Cirio's defense argued that a forensic analysis could not guarantee the authenticity of the footage. However, Mola asserted that there are currently no grounds to dismiss the videos as evidence. He is awaiting the results of a technical report on the images from a multimedia laboratory. The prosecution also plans to analyze new video footage and images submitted by Fundación Apolo, led by Yamil Santoro, to determine if their metadata can provide relevant information about the timeline of events.

Fundación Apolo claims the newly submitted images, which reportedly show the house occupied by Cirio and Insaurralde, contain metadata that could establish when they were recorded. This could potentially reveal the state of the property before subsequent modifications, supporting the hypothesis that the house might have been "emptied" amid the judicial investigation.

Additionally, the prosecution is considering an appeal against the recent dismissal of model Sofía Clerici from the case. Clerici, suspected of acting as a straw owner for Insaurralde, was cleared by federal judge Luis Armella, who cited a lack of evidence linking her to Insaurralde's alleged illicit activities after three years of investigation. Despite this, the judge ordered that Clerici's assets remain under investigation in San Isidro. The judge's decision was based on a forensic report that found no documentary evidence of financial transfers from Insaurralde to Clerici, although inconsistencies were noted in their financial accounts.
