Prosecutor's office launches nationwide search for mother and daughter

Paraguayan authorities have activated a national search protocol for a young mother and her daughter who have been reported missing. Gissel Noemí Ojeda Riveros, 24, and her 2-year-old daughter, Emma Valentina Benítez Ojeda, were last seen in Asunción.

The Public Ministry issued the nationwide alert after receiving the report from their relatives. The two were last seen on Eusebio Ayala street, between Capitán Cañiza and Tte. Alvarenga avenues. The prosecutor's office is coordinating efforts to locate them and ensure their safety.

Prosecutor Francisco Gabriel Torres Núñez of Unit N.º 16 in Asunción ordered the immediate activation of the search protocol. He has requested a report from the involved police station detailing the steps taken so far. The police are tasked with formally commencing the search and providing an update within 24 hours.

Investigators are gathering information to clarify the circumstances of their disappearance. The authorities are appealing to the public for assistance, asking anyone with relevant information or who may have seen suspicious activity related to the case to contact the Department of Search and Location of Missing Persons at 0986 760 083 or report to the nearest police station.
