Prosecutor to seek charges against driver in death of 20-year-old delivery worker in La Barra

Maldonado prosecutors are preparing to formally charge a 58-year-old woman in connection with a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a 20-year-old delivery worker. The incident took place on July 1st in La Barra, when the woman's car collided with the motorcycle ridden by the victim.

The hearing, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the Maldonado Justice Center, will see the prosecution request the formalization of charges against the driver. This move follows an analysis by the prosecutor's office, which has identified evidence suggesting potential criminal responsibility on the driver's part. The victim sustained severe injuries when he hit the curb after the collision and died at the scene, despite medical assistance.

The family of the deceased delivery worker asserts that the driver's actions were reckless. They claim she attempted an unsafe U-turn, crossing the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
