Proton e.MAS Surpasses 31,504 xEV Registrations in Malaysia

Proton e.MAS has rapidly become Malaysia's fastest-growing automotive brand in the electric and electrified vehicle (xEV) segment, reaching 31,504 registrations by July 31, 2026. This milestone was achieved just 20 months after the launch of the Proton e.MAS 7 in December 2024.

The significant domestic registration figure of 30,293 underscores a growing acceptance of electric mobility among Malaysians. Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET, noted that this achievement demonstrates increased consumer trust in EVs and their adoption as a lifestyle choice. "Every Proton e.MAS owner not only chooses an electric vehicle but also plays a role in building an ecosystem that supports the future growth of EVs," he stated.

This momentum extends to international markets, with over 1,211 Proton e.MAS units exported. The recently introduced Proton e.MAS 5 has seen particular success abroad, with 130 units exported, making affordable EV ownership accessible to global customers. This growth surpasses previous sales targets, indicating a strong upward trend in xEV adoption nationwide.

The achievement of over 30,000 Proton e.MAS registrations in just 20 months shows the increasing confidence of Malaysians in electric vehicles.

Within Malaysia, the Proton e.MAS 5 leads the market with 13,279 registrations, followed by the Proton e.MAS 7 SUV with 12,068 registrations, and the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV as the best-selling plug-in hybrid with 4,946 registrations. Proton e.MAS has also expanded its infrastructure, boasting 58 dealerships, 45 service centers, and 10 Body & Paint centers, alongside an integrated charging map with over 4,700 charging points across the country.
