Paris Saint-Germain solidified its status as Europe's premier club by clinching the UEFA Super Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Aston Villa. The French champions successfully defended the title they won last year, further cementing their dominance on the continental stage.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute with a powerful shot, demonstrating his early impact on the match. Aston Villa, however, responded before halftime, with 17-year-old debutant Brian Madjo scoring in the 45th minute to level the score. Madjo had several other chances to put Villa ahead but couldn't convert.
