PSG sign Spain forward Torres from Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain has secured the signing of Spain's World Cup-winning forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona. The clubs announced the transfer on Saturday, with Torres agreeing to a contract that extends until 2031.

While official financial terms were not disclosed, media reports suggest PSG paid approximately €50 million ($57.83 million) for the 26-year-old player. Torres expressed his delight at joining an ambitious club like PSG and aims to contribute to winning trophies.

Torres arrives in Paris after a notable performance in the World Cup final, where he scored the winning goal in extra time against Argentina. During his last campaign with Barcelona, he contributed 21 goals and three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions, helping the team retain their LaLiga title. He had joined Barcelona in 2022 after a stint with Manchester City. Torres has also represented Spain 65 times, scoring 25 goals, and will work again with coach Luis Enrique, who previously managed him in the national team.
