Punjab CM says Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojana scheme has been expanded

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Thursday the expansion of the 'Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojana' scheme, which facilitates free pilgrimages for devotees to various sacred sites across India. The state government will now cover all expenses, including transportation from home, boarding, and lodging.

Starting August 1, the scheme will enable devotees to undertake free pilgrimages to Khatu Shyam Ji, Salasar Ji, Vrindavan Dham, and Rishikesh. Previously, the scheme covered visits to sites such as Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Mandir, Bhagwan Valmiki Teerath Sthal, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Naina Devi Ji.

The state government has decided to organise this programme in 22 cities across the state to disseminate the message of Lord Shiva. The sole objective is that during the ongoing holy month of Saavan, people across Punjab immerse themselves in devotion to Lord Shiva.

Mann also highlighted the state's commitment to communal harmony, brotherhood, and mutual respect, describing Punjab as a sacred land of Gurus and saints. He spoke at a 'Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv De Naam' Bhajan Sandhya event, noting the program's aim to perpetuate the legacy of Lord Shiva and its organization across 22 cities during the holy month of Saavan.

The Chief Minister asserted that divisive forces attempting to sow hatred will be defeated by the people of Punjab, emphasizing the strong bonds of love and togetherness in the state. He noted that people of all faiths celebrate festivals together, reinforcing the state's enduring traditions.
