Punjab government reshuffles senior bureaucrats

The Punjab government initiated a significant reshuffling of senior bureaucrats on Wednesday evening, prompted by the federal government's decision to transfer Additional Chief Secretary Ahmad Raza Sarwar. Sarwar has been posted as the secretary of the interior and narcotics control division.

In his place, retired Flt. Lt. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo has been appointed as the new additional chief secretary. Sahoo was previously serving as the secretary of the agriculture department and has now been transferred to this prominent role.

The administrative changes extend to other key departments. Muhammad Umar Masud, who held the position of Secretary for Punjab Industries, Commerce, and Investment, has been transferred and appointed as the new secretary of the agriculture department. Zaid Bin Maqsood, Secretary (Services) in the S&GAD department, has been moved to become the secretary of the industries, commerce, and investment department.

Further adjustments include the transfer of Muhammad Jahanzeb, Secretary (Archives & Libraries Wing) S&GAD, to the role of secretary (Services) within the S&GAD department. He will also assume additional charge of the post of secretary (I&C), S&GAD, until further orders. Syed Muhammad Masood Nouman, previously Secretary (I&C), S&GAD, has been transferred and appointed as secretary (Archives & Libraries Wing) S&GAD.
