Pupuk Kujang circumcises 510 children using laser technology

PT Pupuk Kujang, an Indonesian fertilizer company, organized its annual free mass circumcision program, benefiting 510 children and utilizing modern laser technology. This initiative is part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and marks its 51st anniversary, demonstrating its commitment to the social well-being of the community. VP of Corporate Communications, R. Idho Pramana Sembada, stated that the program is a manifestation of Pupuk Kujang's CSR pillar focused on enhancing public health. "Management hopes that the contribution made consistently at each company anniversary event not only eases the economic burden on families but also strengthens the harmonious relationship that has long existed between the company and the surrounding residents," he said. The organizing committee for the 51st anniversary, led by Desra Heriman, reported that the target of 510 participants this year represents a significant increase from previous years, which saw around 300 children. To accommodate the high public interest, the company expanded the quota. The event was designed as a 10-day marathon, with a daily target of serving 51 children to ensure a smooth and comfortable process while maintaining optimal medical service standards. Director of the Pupuk Kujang Utama Clinic, Mulky Wahyudy, highlighted the clinic's focus on the safety, sterility, and psychological comfort of the child participants. The clinic employed modern medical methods throughout the procedures. "This year, we fully utilized laser technology (cauter) in the mass circumcision activities. We chose this method because it minimizes the risk of bleeding, makes the procedure much faster, and significantly speeds up wound healing. This is very important to reduce anxiety and fear in children," Wahyudy explained. In addition to technological advancements, the clinic managed its medical infrastructure rigorously to handle the large volume of participants. Ten operating beds were simultaneously active during the event. "We do not abandon patients. After the operation, we provide free follow-up examinations and check-ups for patients, ensuring they receive care until they are fully recovered," Wahyudy added.
