Putin calls on Russian government to boost development in annexed Ukrainian regions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has directed the government to accelerate the development of the Ukrainian regions annexed by Russia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, aiming to bring them up to the national standard by 2030. During a video conference with the cabinet, Putin emphasized that these territories must reach the same level as the rest of Russia in key indicators and quality of life for their inhabitants.

"It is necessary not only to rebuild and repair everything that was destroyed and damaged but also to lay the foundation for a radical transformation of the economy and industry of Donbas and Novorossia," Putin stated. He called for a strong impetus for development in all spheres of life, ensuring people witness tangible improvements. This ambitious task, involving approximately 300 projects, encompasses social infrastructure, housing, transportation, and communal services.

The integration strategy also focuses on justice, economy, education, and culture. Putin urged the government to identify areas requiring additional efforts and enhanced coordination, considering the current situation and regional reports. He also asserted that Russian troops are advancing on all fronts, holding a "strategic advantage" and that enemy attacks will not alter this situation.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported that the social development program for the annexed regions is being fully implemented. He noted that this year, declared the year of unity for the peoples of Russia, has seen the country unite to address this common task. Industrial enterprises are resuming operations, increasing production, and integrating into Russia's economic system, while the agricultural sector is expanding cultivated land. Free economic zones in these regions already involve over 500 companies with investments exceeding 383 billion rubles.
