PWNU Aceh Welcomes Outcomes of NU National Conference and Congress

The Aceh branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU Aceh) has expressed positive reception to the results of the 2026 National Conference of Scholars and the Congress of Nahdlatul Ulama. The events took place from June 20-22, 2026, at the Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School in Ploso, Kediri.

One significant recommendation that garnered attention involved proposed adjustments to the organization's regulations concerning the prohibition of holding multiple positions for the General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU). This recommendation is slated to be presented at the upcoming NU Congress for further deliberation according to the organization's established mechanisms.

The discussion regarding these provisions needs to be viewed from the perspective of the organization and institutional governance.

Rais Syuriah of PWNU Aceh, Tgk H Nuruzzahri, also known as Waled Nu, stated that discussions on this regulation are part of the organization's dynamics, aimed at aligning rules with the evolving needs of the institution. He explained that current regulations categorize certain positions as political. The Munas and Konbes provided a platform for various viewpoints, suggesting a review of these provisions for further discussion in higher organizational forums.

Waled Nu specifically mentioned the proposal to re-examine the phrase "minister" within Article 51, Paragraph (5) of the NU's Articles of Association, emphasizing the need to view this discussion from the perspective of organizational structure and governance. He commended the recommendations from the Munas and Konbes as indicative of the organization's continuous effort to refine its rules through established procedures, with the final decision resting with the NU Congress, the highest authority for amending the organization's Articles of Association and Bylaws.
