Qassem: Only solution is Israeli withdrawal, army deployment south of Litani

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem declared on Wednesday that the sole path to resolving the ongoing conflict involves an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. He specifically proposed that the Lebanese Army should deploy south of the Litani River as a condition for peace.

Qassem sharply criticized a proposed framework agreement, characterizing it as a betrayal of Lebanon. He argued that the agreement does not mandate a genuine withdrawal but rather a redeployment, which he believes would effectively cede a portion of Lebanese land. "Not a single article of this agreement shall pass," Qassem asserted defiantly to his supporters.

The framework agreement sells Lebanon to the Zionist entity and it does not talk about withdrawal but rather re-deployment, which means giving up a piece of Lebanon.

He affirmed Hezbollah's commitment to the ongoing struggle, stating, "We're clinging to the course of the American-Iranian agreement and with it we will stay in the battlefield." Qassem also vowed that Hezbollah would not be provoked into internal strife but would not tolerate any insults. The group remains steadfast in its position, emphasizing resistance and rejection of unfavorable terms.
