The men's 100m breaststroke heat faced a 15-minute delay when swimmer Zac Stubblety-Cook noticed a lane rope had detached from its holder. He alerted officials, who struggled to fix the issue, leading to swimmers being asked back to their blocks. Stubblety-Cook remarked, "I've never had a delay that long," but added, "That's just sport. You have to roll with it."

In a remarkable display of endurance, Australian swimmer Jenna Forrester secured a gold medal in the women's 200m backstroke final. This victory came within an hour of her receiving a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle.
