Quiroga and Doria Medina express solidarity after tragedy in Viacha

After explosions at the Bolívar Regiment facilities in Viacha, former presidential candidates Jorge Tuto Quiroga and Samuel Doria Medina called for support for those affected and their families.

Quiroga also said he had spoken with Viacha Mayor Jenrry Patzi, who was at the scene and, according to Quiroga, requested medical assistance. “In the face of this painful catastrophe, in this major industrial center of Bolivia, all possible help is needed immediately,” he added.

Doria Medina recalled his personal and professional ties to Viacha, saying he had worked there for 25 years. “I have a very deep personal connection with Viacha, a city where I worked for 25 years and whose residents and I undertook many projects together. That is why I have felt the tragedy that has just happened there so deeply,” he said.

He offered solidarity to the city’s residents, especially the families of those killed and injured. Doria Medina said he believed Viacha’s spirit of solidarity would help unite its residents as authorities and specialist teams continued working in the affected area.
