Rabat Welcomes Jerusalem Children for Summer Camp

Rabat is hosting 50 children from Jerusalem for the 17th annual summer camp, an initiative organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency. The camp, which runs from August 12 to 26, is held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, who chairs the Al-Quds Committee. This year's camp is named "Manarat Al-Salam" or "Lighthouse of Peace."

The participating children, aged 11 to 14, will engage in a program featuring educational tours of historical sites, artistic and sports competitions, and recreational games. They will also have opportunities for cultural exchange with their Moroccan peers. The program includes a "Summer School" component focused on the safe use of the internet, with guidance from experts at the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection. Additionally, children will explore the "Hayya" platform, which educates on the values of Jerusalem.

The favor of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, in bestowing His Majesty's high patronage on this session, as on all previous sessions, is proof of His Majesty the King's interest and care for Palestinians in general, and Jerusalemites in particular, of all their categories, especially children, adolescents and youth.

Mohammed Salem Cherkaoui, the director managing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, highlighted King Mohammed VI's continuous support for these camps. He stated that the King's patronage demonstrates his deep care for Palestinians, especially children and youth from Jerusalem. Cherkaoui emphasized that the "Lighthouse of Peace" theme reflects Moroccan values of unity, freedom, justice, and peace.

This session will allow children from Jerusalem to get to know the Kingdom of Morocco up close, its civilization and its culture, and to enjoy a tour that takes them across Morocco.

Montaha Attoun, representing the Directorate of Education and Training in Jerusalem and accompanying the students, expressed gratitude to King Mohammed VI for this "wonderful grant." She noted that the camp allows Jerusalem children to experience Morocco's culture and civilization firsthand. Attoun expressed hope for the continued success of this exchange program between the two brotherly nations.

The children themselves shared their excitement about the experience, praising the opportunity to learn about Moroccan culture and interact with local children. They thanked King Mohammed VI and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency for the initiative, expressing eagerness to share Jerusalem's culture with their Moroccan counterparts. The summer school, running from August 12-14, includes activities focused on learning, creativity, and future aspirations, with participation from both Palestinian and Moroccan children.
