Race against time as 600 remain trapped in hydro project tunnels

More than 600 people remain missing or trapped inside collapsed tunnels and infrastructure at 11 hydropower project sites in Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.

The workers became stranded after devastating flash floods hit the Himalayan nation on August 26. Multiple agencies, including the Nepalese and Indian armies, are involved in rescue operations, which have grown increasingly grim as each day passes.
