Rachmat Gobel to Be Buried in Gorontalo

Rachmat Gobel, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and a prominent national figure, has died. He passed away early Friday morning at 3:20 AM WIB and is currently being mourned at his residence in South Jakarta. His remains are expected to be buried in Gorontalo, though further details are pending.

Willy Aditya, a colleague from the Nasdem faction, confirmed Gobel's passing and extended condolences. He noted that Gobel leaves behind a wife, two children, and grandchildren. "We ask for prayers and forgiveness for any shortcomings during his lifetime," Willy stated.

Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman expressed deep sorrow, calling Gobel a "best son of the nation" dedicated to advancing development and public welfare. Amran remembered Gobel not only as a statesman and businessman but also as a close friend. Gobel, 63, had a distinguished career as an entrepreneur and politician, previously serving as Minister of Trade under President Joko Widodo from 2014 to 2015. He also held significant parliamentary positions and was the Chief Commissioner for various PT Panasonic companies.
