Radev wins election in Bulgaria: 'This is just the first step'

Bulgaria has elected former President Rumen Radev as the winner of its parliamentary elections, a significant mandate that saw his Progressive Bulgaria coalition secure a commanding 135 seats in the 240-seat National Assembly. The results, based on over 90% of votes counted, signal a decisive victory for Radev and his platform.

Speaking from his party headquarters in the capital, Sofia, Radev addressed the nation, framing his win as a profound statement. "This is just the first step. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (HÖH) secured 6%, and the Revival (Vızrajdane) party passed the electoral threshold with 4% of the vote.
