Rahul Gandhi demands PM Modi's resignation over CJP protest crackdown

Rahul Gandhi has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Home Minister Amit Shah following police action against protesters during the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) march to Parliament. The confrontation occurred on the second day of the Monsoon Session and has ignited a political dispute over alleged examination and education system irregularities.

These youth are protesting about the education system and the testing system. The entire country knows the education system and testing system are broken; it has ceased to exist. The testing system has been hollowed out by termites. That is all they are saying. We have been saying it too. I have been giving presentation after presentation about this. Why is the Prime Minister silent?

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Gandhi accused the government of suppressing students voicing concerns about the education and testing systems. "The entire country knows the education system and testing system are broken; it has ceased to exist. The testing system has been hollowed out by termites," Gandhi stated, echoing the protesters' sentiments. He questioned the Prime Minister's silence on the matter and labeled the police response as "un-Indian."

Gandhi emphasized that young people in India face closed doors of opportunity, with even competitive exams being compromised. He argued that the students' complaints extend beyond the education system to their future prospects. He further alleged that the country's education system has been influenced by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and accused the government of prioritizing industrialists over students, citing the contrast between lavish weddings and the students' struggles.

Adding to his criticism, Gandhi claimed that opposition Members of Parliament were being denied the opportunity to raise the issue in Parliament. He alleged that the Speaker indicated that discussions require government permission, which he interpreted as a sign of government control over parliamentary proceedings. Following his media address, Gandhi proceeded to visit those injured at RML Hospital.
