Rain affects Taiwan as 10 Chinese vessels continue operations near the island

Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said five Chinese military vessels and five government ships continued operating around the Taiwan Strait during a 24-hour period.

The ministry said it detected the vessels between 6 a.m. on the previous day and 6 a.m. on the day of its announcement. It reported no Chinese military aircraft during the same period, so it did not release an air-activity map.

Taiwan’s armed forces used aircraft, naval vessels and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the activity.
